The trip was planned like a year ago together with Bang Majidi, Vincent and Kandau. Main target species was supposed to be Black Bass but we ended up fishing at the river "KNOWN" to be no Black Bass.
Without any clue what is wrong with the plan or to be precise with the so-called "Pro Guide Fishing" that our quest for Black Bass now change to Sapan. There goes our plan!!!!!
Lets make long story short... Lets fish for Sapan then. Not only the long story became short, the fishing hours also can be short. Anyway, fishing is still fishing no matter what species were there as long as i am going fishing. Old saying, picture is worth a thousand words.
Level of difficulties while going upper river Kelay
Rocky river mountain
Locally known as Sapan. Malaysian called it Kelah and some called it Mahseer @Empurau.
Nice size Sapan @ Kelah
Unknown species - just called it Selling.
Smaller Sapan more aggressive and sometimes it took lure just by your boat sides.
Hampala do share habitat with Sapan here in Kelay river
Sapan @ Kelah @ mahseer - Thanks for the hospitality!
It was supposed to be a starts of dry season in Sarawak in June but the weather was unpredictable for 2016. Thats mean bad for freshwater fishing for us here. Our main target river was badly affected by rain and murky.
We have to change our plan and indeed fishing at lower part of the Murum Dam thats mean other nearby rivers channel. Overall catches was beyond bad .... Yes!!! it was awesome!!!

Its been a while i've not posted any pictures or blogging. After almost 6 months i'm back to Dusun Meliau, West Kalimantan, Island of Borneo, Indonesia.
This time i brought couple of anglers from Singapore to try the spot there. It was a slow at 1st but its getting interesting at the end of the trip with numbers of target fish such as Kerandang @ Channa Pleurophthalma, Toman @ Giant Snakehead @ Channa micropeltes, Cobra snakehead @ Channa Marulius, Begahak @ Belodontichthys Dinema and some other species were in our catches list.

Fishing trip to Lombok was planned by us for Nov last year but i've cancelled it out due to job commitment. I've decided to shift the plan to March this year.
It was some kind of experiment trip with just 2 days fishing. Amazingly it turns out to be among the most successful trip for me. Again, this time Kenny Chee from Extreme Anglers Custom Rod provides some rods from PE1.5 to PE4 jigging rods and PE7 popping rod.
Jig weight ranging from 60gm-250gm depends on current. Biggest dogtooth was 32kg and biggest GT was 34kg all caught using jigging technique.
Below are some photos:
KMBP boat that we used for the 2 days fishing trip.
Fahmi with Red Snapper by Slow pitch jigging.
Alif with unexpected Golden Trevally on 60gm jig.
Suits his nickname "Doggieboy" @ Alif with 16kg dogtooth on 80gm jig.
Double hook up from Majidi and JJ. Each Amberjacks weight over 8kg.
Rare Blubberlip Snapper weight over 7kg caught using jig by Rozy.
GT that gave us a good fight while using light set up such as Extreme Anglers PE1.5 rod.
Again on Extreme Anglers PE1.5 jigging rod.
Sahil a local fishing friend with the biggest Dogtooth Tuna of the trip weighting at 32kg.
Biggest GT of the trip weighting at 34kg.
The only fish caught using popper/swimbait. Bluefin Trevally over 5kg.
