Another days of fishing and this time i'm in Maldives. Onboard "Kandi Hibaru" for 7 days 6 Nights. Technically casting/popping and jigging.

Lure Casting/Fishing for Sebarau aka Adong aka Hampala in Bakun, Sarawak, Island of Borneo

After planning the trip for almost 6 months and here we are at Bakun Dam, Bintulu, Sarawak. For those that not familiar with the name of "Bakun", its a place that near to Bintulu town approximately 3 hours journey by car. For those that coming from Kuching it will takes 1 hour flight or more than 10 hours drive to get to Bintulu town. To be brief, its a remote area under hydroelectric project in the Island of Borneo.

All the channels and the upriver streams are famous with Sebarau which is locally known as Adong or Juak and widely known as Hampala Macropiledota (correct me if i'm wrong).

Other specimens that been caught there were Semah/Empurau(Masheer or Tor), Tengalan, Tapah(Wallago), Baung, Lampam sungai dan keli.

Below are the pictures from the last trip:

Sebarau aka Kampala caught using Siam Spoon. Set up Extreme Anglers Custom Rod and Daiwa Zillion TWS bait cast reel with a 20lb Powerpro main line/30lb fluoro leader.

Thanks to Kenny Chee from Extreme Anglers for giving me chance to test their new custom prototype rod that will be soon in the market. Easily lift up the 2kg freshwater beast the Sebarau aka Hampala.

I did caught a smaller size Hampala with a micro jig from Eupro 7g.

Kenneth really enjoying the trip and even spend sometimes to fish some Baung (type of catfish).

Nice Hampala caught by Kenneth.

Dom with his catch..still Hampala even small in size. hahahaha

This is the Tengalan fish given by the local fisherman for our dinner.  Hardly caught by lures.

Big smile for a big Hampala with a big lure from Storm Thunder Barra.

Please check some of the action in the video below:

Lures Fishing for Tapah @ Wallago Leeri and Begahak @ Belodontichthys dinema in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Island of Borneo

This 2nd fishing trip was a last minute planning in October. After more than a months without any fishing activities and i've decided to fly to Pontianak, West Kalimantan to search for the Wallago Leeri & Begahak.

Daiwa Crossbeat & Daiwa Ryoga 1016 set a badly tested by monsters from the West Kalimantan rivers. Belows are some pictures on our catches.

Tapah @ Wallago Leeri caught using Storm Thunder Barra Lure, Daiwa Ryoga 1016 RBC & Daiwa Crossbeat Rod. Loves the fight!!!

Its not easy to lift up monster Tapah @ Wallago Leeri 23kg

Tapah measured at almost 120cm.

Begahak @ Belodontichthys dinema @ Toothed Catfish @Lais Tembiring caught using the same set up. Again Storm Thunder Barra does it.

A 4kg Begahak @ Belodontichthys dinema with Storm Thunder Barra, Daiwa combo reel & rod  did it again.

Above is the short clip from the trip that i've uploaded to Youtube.

After a 2 days fishing trip in West Kalimantan with a good trophies in my catches list and yet i felt not gonna stop hunting for predators there. Definitely be back there in near future for others monster trophy.

Keen to give it a try in landing in a Wallago @ Tapah?? I might able to help but still we can't fight nature. I'm reachable via email steveraa78@gmail.com or add/follow me on my facebook King Revets.

Saltwater..started fishing with bottom technique

I've started saltwater fishing with a bottom technique. With mullet, sardine, squid and many other as a fresh/live baits. These pics collection was about 2-3 years ago when all the light jigs wouldn't worked in a fast current...definitely need a weight(batu ladung) approx. around 350gm up to 900gm. It is heavy!!!! sometimes it might heavier then a fish that we caught!

Locally known as Jan or Mayong and most probably different depends on districts.

Delicious Jenahak/Golden Snapper

Known as Umpak in Sarawak...some says Gerut-gerut

Biggest Manchong i've ever caught

Ketarap/Bayan

Some collection of Red snapper

Ikan Kaci/Minyak

Telinga Gajah...well some says Toshiba?? hahahha

Another golden snapper...its hard to catch a good size golden snapper nowadays.

I caught 2 sting rays of a same size in a row at this trip

Freshwater lures casting/fishing in Sarawak, Island of Borneo (Quest for Hampala, Tor and Channa)

Another adventure of mine.......more to go before i get to all the remote area and i guess 50% of the objective will be about fish.

The last longhouse in the suburb area before we really can reach our destination.

Can't help myself but to dive into a cold river to refresh.....

Channa on Rapala TD

Where all the mama's gone? left me a baby Tor..

Yet another baby river perch/hampala

Thanks God for the excitement...at last Mama Hampala
